ChestThe chest and décolletage area is very susceptible to the aging process. The skin in this region is much thinner than that of our face due to the dramatic reduction of oil and hair glands, making it harder to thicken the skin and due to its tendency to scar poorly, it’s more susceptible to complications from aggressive laser procedures. Therefore, using Sculptra, a collagen booster, to this area is vital for antiaging and skin rejuvenation. Results are gradual and take time
to build. |
How to PrepareDo not drink alcohol or take blood thinners, including herbal supplements, for 3-5 days before your treatment.
|
During my TreatmentThis product is administered via a needle through multiple injections.
The treatment area is first cleaned with an antiseptic solution. An anesthetic numbing medicine may be used to reduce the discomfort of the injection. This may consist of topical numbing cream as well as the lidocaine infused within the filler. Multiple injections will be made to the treatment area, depending on the site, depth of deformity, and the technique used. |
After My TreatmentThe treated area may be swollen, pink, and possibly bruised. Ice or a cool compress may be applied on the site for 5 to 10 minutes at a time. Tylenol, Arnica pills or gel, as well as antihistamine pills (Claritin, Zyrtec, etc) may also be used to reduce swelling.
After your treatment, make a return visit in 1 month so we can follow up on your results. Additional filler product will be necessary to achieve the desired level of correction. Some individuals may require 3 treatment sessions. Sculptra must be massaged after treatments. Please massage the area 5 times a day, for 5 minutes at a time, and for 5 days. This helps to ensure smooth, even results. |
Possible RisksWe recommend that you take it easy after your chest treatment. Do not do anything cardiovascular for 1 to 2 days. These activities can increase side effects and complications, including swelling, bruising, and pain.
Although a very thin needle is used, common injection related reactions can occur. These include swelling, pain, itching, bruising, bumps, and discoloration on the injection area. |
These side effects are considered normal and temporary and should go away within a week of your treatment.
Once optimal results are established, the chest Sculptra treatment can last 1 to 2 years. |
