SculptraVolume loss in the face and body can occur from weight loss, illness, stress, genetics, and/or the aging process. Sculptra is an injection procedure using a molecule called lactic acid. Over time, it gradually induces your body to make your own natural collagen.
Sculptra is used in the face, décolletage, and buttocks to add volume, support, and lift to the area. The results are long lasting, natural and profound. |
How to PrepareDo not drink alcohol or take blood thinners, including herbal supplements, for 3-5 days before your treatment.
Please drink plenty of water before and after your treatments (approximately 1.5 to 2 liters of water a day). |
During my TreatmentThis product is administered via a needle through multiple injection sites.
The treatment area is first cleansed with an antiseptic solution. An anesthetic numbing medicine may be used to reduce the discomfort of the injection. This may consist of topical numbing cream as well as the lidocaine infused within the filler. Multiple injections will be made to the treatment area, depending on the site, depth of deformity, and the technique used. |
After my TreatmentThe treated area may be sore, swollen, pink, and possibly bruised. Ice or a cool compress may be applied on the site for 5 to 10 minutes at a time.
Wash your skin with cool water. Avoid all abrasive products and treatments. You may apply moisturizer and mineral sunblock SPF 30+ after the treatment. Return in 1 month so we can follow up on your results. Additional Sculptra product will be necessary to achieve the desired level of correction. For the face, you will need 1 vial of Sculptra per decade of life. Sculptra should be massaged after treatments. Please massage the area 5 times a day, for 5 minutes at a time, and for 5 days. This helps to ensure smooth, even results. |
Possible RisksWe recommend that you take it easy after your treatment. Do not do anything cardiovascular for 1 to 2 days. These activities can increase side effects and complications, including swelling, bruising, and pain.
|
Although a thin needle is used, common injection related reactions can occur. Potential reactions include swelling, pain, itching, bruising, bumps, and discoloration on the injection area. These side effects are considered normal and temporary and should go away within a week of your treatment.
Once optimal results are established, the Sculptra results can last one or more years. |
